Dr. Kylie McLaren
A Murdoch University graduate, some 30 years ago, Kylie's veterinary career has seen her travel around Australia. From her initial posting in Darwin, to country WA (where she picked up a husband), across to South Australia and back again. The last 12 years Kylie has been working in general practice in Bunbury and has thoroughly enjoyed this coastal country town.
After her two gorgeous daughters left home, and COVID put the kibosh on further travel around Australia, Kylie and her husband packed up the house and the cat and moved up here to Geraldton.
Kylie is a passionate gardener, hopeless golfer and loves the outdoors, especially camping and prospecting. She has cohabited with a variety of (usually rescued) pets over the years, and each one has brought their own special joy to the family. Their current tenant is “Mr B “ a rather large, bed-hogging moggy – now in his twilight years at 15. Arthritic and with only one hip, he has embraced the sea change to Geraldton and spends his days dedicated to dropping as much fur over everything as possible.
While enjoying general practice immensely, Kylie's special interests lie in ultrasonography and emergency medicine. She has continued to pursue higher learning in these areas and hopes to bring the benefits of her experience to Sanford Veterinary Hospital.
